George's Marvellous Medicine

On Friday we made our own marvelous medicines.
We used flour, vinegar, oil, flowers, leaves, baking soda, herbs and paint to make the medicines.
We had a wonderful time mixing, creating and making them.

Then we made granny out of cardboard and paper and fed her some of our marvelous medicine to make her grow.It was so funny. We had lots of fun.

Toys, Toys, Toys.

We are learning about Toys.
We enjoyed a fantastic trip to Motat last week and this got us inspired to make our own soft toys.
Fist we looked at pictures of soft toys and brought soft toys to school.
Then we drew a plan of what we wanted our soft toy to look like, onto paper.
Mrs Newman then cut a template out of calico.
Then we coloured the template in and added the details using fabric pens. This was quite tricky as the material kept moving.
Next lovely Charlotte's Nana took the templates home and sewed the two pieces together as Mrs Newman's sewing machine had broken.
Today we stuffed the toys with stuffing and Charlotte's Nana came to school with her sewing machine to sew the last part up.
They look amazing Room 9a. You are all so clever.
A big thank you to Charlotte's Nana, she is a star.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Room 9a wishes all our Mum's and Nana's a relaxing Mothers Day tomorrow.
I hope the children look after you today.
We hope you enjoy the beautiful cards we made you.
xxoo Room 9a
Mum
I loved you yesterday,
I love you today,
And I will love you tomorrow.
You were there for me on my first day of school,
To hold my hand and give me courage to go.
You listen to me when I need to talk.
You talk to me when I need to listen.
You let me grow and learn from my own mistakes.
You never leave my side when I feel sad.
I know you are there to pick me up.
I wish there was a way to repay all the things you have done for me.
But there is nothing great enough to repay you,

The greatest mother of all.

Dog Stories

Our shared book this week was called ‘Dog’. We made our own dogs bodies by ripping newspaper and then we added a tail, ears and a head.

We decorated them. We then made up a sentence to describe our dog.

Take a peek at some of our dogs and come into Room 9a to meet them all.
